Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Enthusiasts,
It may look like Winter when you peer out your window, but we still have a few weeks left of Fall on the calendar, definitely a season to remember here in the Upper Midwest NPC! The last NPC district show of the year, the NPC North Star was a fantastic end to a fantastic year, when I look back at this year there are no regrets and a whole lot of positives going forward. We had record attendance at every NPC event that took place in our districts this year and with all the exciting things being planned, 2008 is going to be better yet!!
There are several news breaking bits of information that I have been waiting patiently to release. The first of them are regarding the introduction of a new show to the state of Minnesota…I am very proud to announce that Flex Wheeler will be bringing his show, The NPC Flex Wheeler Classic, to the metro area on July 12 of 2008!! What an exciting event to look forward to! The NPC Flex Wheeler Classic will be a national qualifier, he will have a Fitness Expo, IFBB professional guest posers, an all pro seminar and celebrity guests. Details are currently being worked out, I will keep you posted as updates become available!
The second exciting bit of information is regarding our next local event, the NPC Athlete Meeting and On Track Training Posing Seminar which is now being presented by All American EFX. I just got off of the phone with Flex and All American EFX will be sending him out to talk about his show and be my guest instructor at the posing seminar!! Because the Ironman Pro is on the weekend we had this event scheduled we will be changing weekends and getting a larger venue. We’re looking at February 9 as a tentative date and hoping to secure a venue in Bloomington, please check the web site for updates. The NPC Athlete Meeting is for everyone, we will talk about local and national rule changes, promoters will talk about their shows and we’ll get you registered for 2008. All American EFX‘s On Track Training Posing Seminar will be the best thing you can do to enhance your performance at your next show. We will start with posing and presentation for fitness and figure including both judging poses and model turns, and then move into the mandatory poses for both female and male bodybuilders. Remember that your show preparation includes training hard, the right contest diet and being able to present that package with confidence to the judges. Don’t miss out on this valuable part of contest preparation! The cost of the seminar will be $5 to cover administrative expenses, On Track Training will waive the $5 fee to those who have already purchased their 2008 NPC cards (available for purchase at NPC Athlete Meeting). All American EFX will be giving product gift bags to all seminar attendees!
The third bit of information I’m excited to share with you is that we have a party interested in promoting a show in the Rochester area in the year 2009. The Minnesota NPC committee wants to get feedback from our members to see if we have enough interest in this show to make it financially lucrative for the promoter. I will be putting up a feedback page on the web site, please let us know if this may be a show you’d be interested in competing in.
Now is the time for you athletes to start planning for 2008! There are several changes in the 2008 calendar so look it over closely to figure out when you need to start your contest preparation. The first show of the year in our districts is on March 29th in Fargo, North Dakota, theNPC Upper Midwest Championships. Tom Kemper is deep into his planning for this show, entry forms will be available soon. The following weekend, April 5, we have Randy and Julie Leppala presenting the NPCHeartland Natural Classic at the Hopkins High School Auditorium. Check out the web site for a link to their site and see what great things are planned! When looking at the calendar make note that the NPC Gopher State Classic has moved from it’s April spot to June 7. This show will get you in shape and qualified for the national shows next summer, NPC Jr. Nationals is only two weeks later in Chicago!
I want to remind everyone who is planning on competing in an NPC sanctioned event to get their NPC registration mailed in. The NPC membership is a calendar year membership which means that no matter when you purchased your membership, it will expire at the end of this month! You will want to renew your membership as soon as possible to enjoy the full benefits which include the NPC News magazines. Go to theNational NPC web site to print out your registration form or I can provide you with a registration form via US mail or as an attachment if you submit a request via email to christine@mnnpc.com or contact me at 952-945-9090.
